About Feile Neidin
Welcome to Féile Neidín, Kenmare’s Irish Music Festival!
This our fifth year and we are hoping you will all make the trip to beautiful Neidín (little nest!) to help us make it a great one. The inspiration for Féile Neidín came from the two immensely successful Munster Fleadhs which were held in Kenmare during 2008 and 2010 after which we were all left thinking, why don’t we do this ourselves every year?!
Our aim is to put on a music festival with elements which are open to all whether young or old, musician or music lover.
In this our fifth year we have been lucky enough to get some great names onto our program including The 4 of Us, De Danann and a great line up of workshop tutors who will be performing for us in St. Patrick's Church in the Saturday Afternoon Recital. Among this years musicians are Paul de Grae, Reidun Schlesinger, Richard Lucey, Diarmuid O'Brien, Hugh Healy, Dessie Kelleher, Brian O'Loughlin.
Following the resounding success of the Sliabh Luachra Tune Workshop last year, Matt Cranitch and Jackie Daly will be returning to teach us a few more polkas and slides. This Sunday morning workshop will be open to all melody instruments.
As with previous years, there will be lots of great music on the session trail.
For those of you who have never been to Kenmare (or Ireland!) this is an ideal opportunity to come and visit us in Neidín, for those of you who already know us, it’s time to.......Return to the Nest!!!!
